Sub 10Mbps download speeds, London

Fledgling

Hi

I have had my 3 5G Router - Huawei 5G CPE Pro 2 (H122-373) - for a couple of years.  It has generally been fast enough, capable of 200Mbps in the middle of the night but more often 20Mbps in the day.

Not so, recently.  I don't see 10Mbps.  I can't remember when I last saw it actually on 5G.  Restarting it and/or moving it make no difference.

The coverage and status checkers don't report anything different.  What can I do?  I'm in Central London.

Thanks

Thanks Kate

The router is on a windowsill on it's own, 1m away from anything.  I've tried other windowsills - all the same.

Network status says "Our systems haven't reported any network problems."

Check coverage says "4G Yes – Excellent service" and "5G Yes – 5G is live" but I never get a green 5G LED.

That's all the info I seem to be able to get from my side.  Is there any way to ask someone to check contention or throttling?

Thanks again.

Hey @notfastenough,

I'm sorry to hear you've noticed a drop in the speeds recently.

Do you have the router placed on a windowsill, or in a higher area at least one metre away from other electrical items like TVs or cordless phones?

When you check out the Network Status Checker, is there any mention of congestion in the area?

Thanks,
Kate
