I see e-sim for Apple Watch launched - when can we have a phone e-sim ?

I would be interested to know when they are rolling out the e-sims for phones! This feature would be extremely useful for me.

Hi, I need to change my physical sim to an e-sim. Please advise how I can do this.

 Thanks

Three don’t currently offer eSIM for mobile devices, there was a trial over 12 months ago which seems to have been successful.

They’ve just started to roll out eSIM for Apple Watch and are due to start rolling out for other devices ‘soon’

If I were a betting person I would say they’ll be shortly before or at the same time iPhone 14 launches

Hi Trevor

eSim was being tested recently for a full rollout soon. The first step was for Apple Watches which is now working.

Keep a look out online for any future updates on eSims for other devices

I bought iphone14 in US without sim tray. Online chat advised me it was imminent last month but still no sign despite saying it will be in 2022. 2 weeks to go - I’m changing to EE if no sign by Christmas

Hi, tried to activate my Esim / mobile data add on using the Apple Watch app, it has added the add on to my plan, but it is stuck in “activating” status on the Watch app, and not applied mobile data to the Watch … any ideas why?

Hi goldfield,

Welcome to the Three Community.

We've had a check into this, and in some cases it may take till the start of your next bill cycle before the add on starts. If you get in touch here, customer services can get it cleared up as to whether it's this issue, or if something else is causing the error.

Seems like it has taken quite some time @DanC, is there any indication when 'soon' is?
