I'm an android fan however I think it comes down to if you have other apple device's, ipads, mac books etc.. it makes sense to stick with the same ecosystem.
For me I enjoy the flexibility android offers though.

Over the years I have used Android, Windows and Apple phones. Like veryone I started early with Andoid and got the hang of the system and how to worka around issues. The windows phones were much the same. I was provided with apple phoes from work and hated the lock ins and hype...can't see me ever getting anything apple in my life. I work across platforms and happy to use windows, android or google devices, at home I use windows laptop and surface pro and yet was provided with ipads at work ,never could get on with them

Went Samsung as the cheapest contract phone that met my needs was a Samsung. As long as the phone does what I want I don't care if it's Apple or Android. I only wish I could remove the un removable bloatware.

Brought Apple because of the stable operating system on their devices and now I am too deep into their eco-system with it seamless integration, never going to be able to get out unless a new competitor creates something better than Apple. Nonetheless Google's offering has begun to look more tempting but not sold on it yet.
