Upgraded to a new 3 Sim. But the sim card has a new number. I was under the understanding that if i was just moving moving to a new plan my number would not change? Should I just leave my old sim in and the plan will change instead of inserting the new sim?

My old contract is not available so have been offered another SIM contract. I will be sent a new SIM. Will this be the same number & Will I need to activate it ?

Hello, Chris.
It sounds like you are just looking to upgrade the plan. If that's the case, you should keep the same phone number, and usually the same SIM as well, unless you are ordering a phone with the upgrade and the phone isn't compatible with your existing SIM.

Hi there.
If an upgrade is done, there is no new number normally. The new SIM would have the same phone number on it as before. Since you have a new number, it sounds like a new line was taken out instead of an upgrade being processed. This means there would be two active contracts.
If you don't want two contracts, you can either return the new one, and upgrade the older one, Or you can get a PAC for the old one, transfer the number to another network on PAYG, resulting in the old account being cancelled, then you can get another PAC from the PAYG provider, and move the number back over to Three on the new account.
