When visiting a Go Roam Around the World Extra destination, you can unlock your plan’s data, minutes, and texts for £7 for 24hrs* or buy a 3, 7, or 14 day Go Roam Around the World Extra Pass before you travel for even better savings. You can check the rates for any roaming destination before you travel on our Roaming Support page. Sorry for any confusion on this point. Yes Australia as an "Around the World" destination, and is also covered by the "Around the World Extra" passes.

So if I'm following correctly, you're away for about 28 days, so will purchase a 14 day ATW pass which will be used entirely in Australia, then get the Extra pass which will be used for both Australia and Thailand.

If you need to double check if these options are worthwhile for you, the base rate is £5 per day in an Around the World destination, and £7 per day in an Around the World Extra destination, and that table Michael shared above gives the prices for the different bundles of passes.

Yes this is exactly what I planned to do as I think will mean I can use my Uk package without extra costs within the fair data usage level (correct me if I’m wrong but the package means I’m not spending that £5/£7 per day on top?).

I gave all my package details and intended travel etc to the online consultant but they did not agree with being able to use an extra package in both Australia and Thailand.  I am struggling to trust info before I spend money on the package and want to be sure!

Hi @Lazzer,

That's right UAE is covered by Go Roam Around the World Extra. You can check this on our Roaming Support page. We can't view your specific plan details from the Community, but if you've joined or renewed since 1 October 2021 with a Pay Monthly plan you'll be able to take advantage of this.

Hi Jonathan,

Thank you for the clarification. I went on chat and asked the same question but they said I could only add Go Roam Around The World to activate in USA. If I added the Around The World Extra it wouldn't work in USA as this would just cover the extra countries but none of the ones listed in Europe and Around The world! Slightly confused! I would like to take advantage of the special offer but if its not going to work it will be a waste.

No worries happy to clear this up further, and sorry if the conversation with the team has confused matters. Refer to the Three Your Way price guide. It's a fairly long document that covers all charges and add ons, but there's a handy table which clarifies that Go Roam Around the World Extra add ons apply to all three types of Go Roam destination.

Does Go Roam Around The World Extra include all 160 destinations? It lists them all on my app under Around the World Extra but not on tge website. Going to USA.

Great question! Yes and no. USA is considered Go Roam Around the World. So if you're paying Daily Roaming charge this is only £5 per day, as opposed to £7 per day for Extra destinations.

However, if you purchase a bundle of passes to use for the USA, this can either be the Go Roam Around the World or the ATW Extra one. Good time to ask this question, as we've got a sale on detailed here: Save with Go Roam Passes this summer 

Essentially to keep things simple, if you buy passes for a more expensive tier, you can use them in any of the cheaper ones too, which is perfect if touring multiple destinations in a short space of time.

Hi Jonathan, I understand that the Go Roam ATW Extra will activate when I make a first chargeable transaction in one of the territories covered by the GR ATW Extra, but my question is… can I buy the the GR ATW Extra today and first use it in, say, 3 months time…or it there a time limit to use it once it’s been purchased?  Many thanks 🙂
