Hi everyone,

Great news! We’ve added 92 new destinations to Go Roam – with over 160 in total - from beautiful Thailand to vibrant Mexico.

And with Go Roam Around the World Extra, you can explore while accessing your plan’s data, minutes, and texts with our inclusive daily roaming passes.*

No inclusive passes? No problem. When visiting a Go Roam Around the World Extra destination, you can unlock your plan’s data, minutes, and texts for £7 for 24hrs* or buy a 3, 7, or 14 day Go Roam Around the World Extra Pass before you travel for even better savings. You can check the rates for any roaming destination before you travel on our Roaming Support page. And if it’s time to renew your plan, why not take advantage of our Value and Complete plans which are bundled with up to 56 days of inclusive Roaming passes, as well as other perks such as Paramount+, extended warranty, free screen repairs and more!

We hope that adding more destinations than ever before to Go Roam is a welcome change. Please let us know in your replies what you think of this new expansion to our Go Roam services, and where you’ll be off to this summer? Read more on the Three blog.

I am a Pay monthly customer who took out a contract with three thinking that my contract included the 56 days roaming. However what they don’t tell you is that you are limited on the amount of data that you can have which is 20 GB a month in France, no matter how many roaming days you have. Not knowing this and allowing my children to hotspot on the journey travelling down the coast they absolutely rinsed my data in the first couple of days meaning that the 56 days remaining were completely pointless as I’d already reached my 20 GB limit as my children were streaming YouTub to entertain themselves on a 10 hour journey, this meant that I came away with £100 phone bill which I did not account for and is really cheeky as it makes you think that you are getting a bargain when in fact you are not as it does not include all your data allowance as it would at home, despite the fact that you’re probably using more data as you’re in a foreign country. I am not impressed with how this is marketed and how I was duped into thinking that this would allow me to use this on a daily basis which it does not as you are limited no matter how many days to the 20 GB a month  their fair usage policy which to me seems really unfair as it’s way lower than my data on my phone and when I’m at home, I barely use it anyway as it’s always connected to the Wi-Fi. They clearly know this and are making money from people who do not realise this. I have looked at other companies and it seems that EE have a better deal which allow you unlimited data roaming abroad at no extra cost so that is who I will be going to next.

Hello, WBR.

It's disappointing to hear you weren't aware of the fair use limit on Data. As far as I know, all mobile providers have some kind of fair use limit that is applicable when roaming.

It's unfortunate that you've had a higher bill due to going over the fair use limit, and that you didn't have any more data to use. While this can be frustrating, it's worth noting that your roaming passes also cover calls and texts, so the pass may still have some use.

Hi,  If you are a frequent traveller, it is worth investing in a higher price contract.  However, if you are the occasional one and need data on family breaks abroad, it is worth considering a Data only service from third parties such as Airalo or others that advertise at airports.  They offer a much better value from any Telco.

How do I add roam around the world extra to my phone number

Hello there.

Welcome to the Three Community.

If you're looking to travel to a Go Roam Extra Destination, your contract should have that ability as long as the contract you have wasn't taken before October 1st, 2021.

There are Go Roam Extra add on bundles you can add to your plan that allow you to pay for Go Roam up front, meaning you save a bit of money, and you don't have to worry about increasing your spend cap to cover the cost each day while you're away.

You can add the Go Roam bundles through the My3 account and Three App.

Pete.

Hi

as a pay monthly customer who bought a “lite” version contract, despite my contract saying it included roaming credits, it seems it doesn’t.  You have to buy these on the 3 website and it depends where you are travelling as to which passes you have to buy. I think Europe was about £2 per 24 hours, and cost increases to about £7 per 24 hours for roam the world extra

I think that if you wanted 28 days of passes included in your contract you have to buy these middle type of pay monthly contract (I can’t remember the name) and for 56 days you have to buy the top tier of pay monthly contract (again I can’t remember the name for this tier).
if you contract is less than 14 days old and it is a lite contract you can upgrade it for £5 a month to the middle tier but after 14 days you cant

I found this out all too late and was outside 14 days, and as someone who needed 14 days of round the world extra at £7 a day paid in one lump sum I’m pretty annoyed at the way 3 advertise their roaming.   It is not very clear or simple. Best of luck

Hello, Ousher.

All newer contracts are able to benefit from Go Roam. It's not a feature that's added or removed. Go Roam is basically just using your phone in one of the roaming destinations where costs are largely reduced.

There are Go Roam passes that allow users to cover the cost of their roaming in one up front charge rather than being charged each day, and some of the contracts include those bundles with them. Go Roam passes do cost, and taking a contract with them included also costs. If your plan is less than 14 days old, you can change it onto a plan that has passes included, or you can keep your plan as is and add passes later when you need them.

So if I have GoRoam passes that I have gotten with a new phone and plan purchase, does this mean I can just use these for *ANY* of the GoRoam countries, including the around the world extras?
