Emergency Alert Test

Hi Everyone,

We’re aware that a number of customers have not received yesterday's test alert. We’re working closely with the government to understand why and make sure it doesn't happen when the system is in use.

There's been a few threads created about this subject since yesterday, so I'll merge these together under this one.

Following the emergency alerts test yesterday, we’ve been working with the government and have identified a technical issue that meant some of our customers didn’t receive the alert. This morning our engineers deployed a fix meaning there will be no issue with future alerts.

There are no plans to run the test again, but Sunday's activity means an issue was identified and in a real emergency we can make sure everyone across the country gets an alert.

Better they test and get the bugs out now but I sincerely hope that none of us have to receive a message via this system for real.

I don't know anyone on the 3 network who received the alarm and suspect 3 will be losing customers as a result.

I really doubt it.

I didn't get the emergency alarm. Neither did my partner. We are on 5G/4G but as in house phone automatically goes through WiFi calling. Noy much use in an emergency if alert is network specific

Me neither. How do you report it?

Don't bother 3 and Michael Gove, I assume it's him or perhaps the honorable member for 1888, are aware that there are issues and will sort it. Sorry, it's really difficult to type whilst tongue in cheek and trying not to laugh.

Apparently it was only pushed through the 4G/5G networks so maybe your phone was on 3G?

I didn't get it either but my phone was switched off and was on charge.
