There is a brand new 5G mast less than 400metres from my house, it was transmitting a full 5G signal as I walked past it. I lost the signal 200 Metres along the road which bends to the right in a house lined street, I can’t get a 5G signal in or outside my house. Has 5G got such a shocking line of sight only range or is the mast on low power for some reason. I have a iPhone 13. The mast is in Paget Road Slough. SL 3.

Im the same. 5G is rubbish. If you are more than about 180 meters then it needs a repeater...which means that most 5g in uk is useless. It has not been constructed to cope with the demand and at the present rate of intsalltion will never be as good as 4g. Ive tuned mine off in settings...now I can actually get a signal at work.

5g towers do not have the same range as 4g masts because 5g power requirements are much higher than 4g. This means that there needs to be a higher density of 5g towers the mobile companies need to build more which can be an issue considering current supply chain issues.

If it's a new mast it may take a while to appear on the coverage map and it may take a while to be fully operational. If you want to know when it's operational keep using your phone to to check the signal.

Maybe the mast is not fully operational yet? Have you tried doing a postcode search on the coverage checker and network status checker pages on three’s webpage to see if there are any issues?
