Experiencing the same issue as others have reported -:unable to receive OTPs from anyone other than 3 having recently ported. Cannot make bank payments, log into several accounts, or reverify my WhatsApp. So incredibly frustrating to see this known issue and it cannot be addressed for at least 72 hours meanwhile the clock is running down for me to return the handset and cancel in cooling off period. All the while I'm unable to use my banking and other critical apps. Really regret moving from 02. Tried everything!

Hi @mrscee168,
Believe it or not porting seemed to be a total coincidence, which was very surprising considering it was mentioned by every single person posting about this, especially considering almost all of you came from 02.
Sorry I don't know the precise details, but it looks like a number of different organisations' automated messages were failing to deliver, and the community feedback has helped correlate what the problem was so the engineers could fix it.
I'm very glad to hear confirmation from both sides that the issue seems to be fixed though. We'll mark this as resolved, but if anyone is still noticing any issues please let us know.
Thanks,
Jonathan

@MattJ @MB22 @Jcroppa @chrisamos1 quick update - I had a call from the escalations team and according to the porting team they are saying the porting was completed successfully. ' Everything is perfect' I really can't see what else it can be though given we all have exactly the same issue and I received otp codes without issue just a few hours before porting. ! It is now being escalated further. Has anyone else had any luck?

I had a long wasted online chat that got me nowhere, as like you they said it was all ported over ok, something is clearly wrong as it’s not just O2 I’ve seen reported there are multiple phone companies. They have opened an investigation into it, that will take upto 7 days. This is one day short of my cool down period so if not sorted It is going to end with me leaving in the cooling off period and having to have a new number after 15 years.

Maybe everything is perfect on their side, but can they say the same about the other side (O2 or/and 3rd operator)? I hope you don't mind me asking @mrscee168 when you 1st got your number who was the operator (that gave it to you)? Was it Telefonica? Or did you move to Telefonica/O2 at some point?

I think the original provider was Vodafone donkeys years ago and then EE before 02. Haven't had problems porting before... It's very strange.

In UK the way portability works it always involve the original provider(as the number block/range 447xxx was allocated by ofcom) and the destination provider. The 3rd provider is the provider being left behind.
The original provider always known where the phone number is (or allocated to which provider)
Porting is completely bonkers, imo, in the UK.
So in your case the operators/providers involved would be Vodafone, Three and O2

This sounds incredibly complicated....so if 3 can't resolve it would returning to Vodafone be my best bet to recover the lost information?

I doubt you can get anything out of them because of sim swap fraud... They need talk between themselves and agree that you are now Three
on 12-05-2025 05:53 PM
But if I ported back to Vodafone would they have all the information they needed to reconstruct ? Thanks so much by the way for all your help!

Good question... I don't know what is the breadcrumbs trail but I doubt because of the possible scenario below.
Assume Three and Vodafone have the correct information but not O2, so any calls from the latter would still fail imo. In short it's messed up.
