Poor service Edinburgh city centre

I was wondering if anyone else experiences such poor service in Edinburgh city centre?

I regularly have four bars of 4G and it’s like I have zero. I use a modern iPhone but the service level is appalling. I realise it’s a busy area but not sure it can be that bad. 

I am on an old 3 contract. Pre brexit so I wondered if these were squeezed to try and get users off them so you no longer get roaming included?
