Sudden loss of internet TQ14 anyone else

Hi all

We are in TQ14 *** 12th May 2024 and have a 5g MC888 mobile hub which until today was working fine.

About 2ish the Internet dropped out and then came back and reapted so I dug out 'FAST' and monitored.

The Internet was up and down like a yoyo from 88 Kbps to 8.9Mbps in seconds, then fast would give an Amber warning that it was no longer conected to the Internet. Its now been going round this cycle every minute or so for 3 hours.

Support chat first said it was that I am in a high traffic area. Until I pointed out that the sudden strat and fast up and down of the speed and totoal drop outs dosent really line up with this comment.

Then they said someone was working on the mast. I can see the mast and it dosent look like anyone is working on it.

Anyone else getting this or had it before?

I have tried rebooting the hub.

Put your postcode in the Network Status Checker to see if there is any issues affecting your area. Call tech support on 333 option 4 option 3 and option 3 again. They should be able to give you more info.

There maybe ongoing works and someone is working on it hence the issues. I expect engineers don’t work 24/7.

Thanks for replying @MZoneSorry I wasnt clear I did check on the network status checker which said the same as the tech support chat that there was heavy traffic which 'could' explain slow speeds. Seems like a brush off responce to me.

I went on tech support chat and when told the same thing said This does not explain the sudden start of the error (with it being absolutly fine since we got it in Feb)  nor the up and down yoyo speeds and drop outs.

The tech support then said someone was and or could be working on the mast but could not be specific. I can see the mast and there was no one there.

Hence asking here.

Hello.

I don't have access to the same amount of information as the support team, but I can see signs of congestion at the postcode you originally gave.

With the network taking on more traffic than usual there, it could be an indicator that engineers are working on parts of it. It could also be an indicator that the amount of people using it has increased, it's hard to know for sure.

I'm hopeful the issue will clear shortly for you.

Pete.

Oh the joys of 5g, absolutely marvelous when you are close to and in direct view of a mast, absolutely crap otherwise. Plus the usual (someone is working on the line) excuse.

My car and van are my office, I originally fitted a mobile 5g router, it was giving a signal like a yoyo and totally useless for me to work with, I clicked on to 4g and it has never missed a beat. Hopefully 5g will sort out the infastructure and give customers the service they pay for.
