Why does the three digital passport need renewing when there is no support available?

Three digital passport can only be renewed after midnight UK time. Support is only available during UK 08:00-22:00 weekdays and 09:00-20:00 weekends. If something goes wrong, like it just has I will get stuck with possibly large charges in the meantime.

Why not have a more rational way of renewing that fits in with the actual support available?
