iOS 18 RCS Support

Hi, could we please have a commit date for the rollout of RCS support which was implemented several months ago at the rollout of the iOS 18 beta? Unfortunately Three has acquired a reputation for being technically behind the curve with the adoption of new / existing technologies (see for reference, the 15 years it took to roll out support for visual voicemail). As users we would like assurance it is not going to be another 15 years until we can text Android users using the native messages application. Without this assurance, a number of us will be likely to switch networks.

I am using IOS 18.2 public beta and RCS is now working for me.

I'm running beta 18.2 and although 'RCS Messaging' now shows up under the 'Messaging' app config, I've been stuck on 'Waiting for activation...' for the last twenty four hours.

It is enabled and working in 18.2 beta 2

Seems the only two networks that don’t support RCS are the two networks that are trying to join together (coincidence or deliberate so can continue to give customers a more expensive service?) three claim to be the biggest network but in my nearly 20 years with them I have only seen a network go from an ever striving network to one which cuts corners and fails to deliver even the most basic services. My local coverage (lived here for 36 years, been with three nearly 20 of those years) go from excellent coverage, with until last year 30+mbps data speeds, not at best I get 3mbps and yet they claim there is no congestion or issues locally, my small town has expanded in size, but the network hasn’t, Vodafone coverage has halved over recent years as well, I can’t see me staying with three on my next upgrade, EE has 30-60mbps speeds here and 5G upgrades coming next year.

It’s really unfortunate isn’t it? One would question if this is because it’s easier to charge customers for MMS messages. I believe EE and BT are supporting currently if paying customers are wanting to move…….

Still no Visual Voicemail

No 5G SA

e-Sims ( only recently added & last to have this )

RCS ….. ( only on EE & works great - finally can send pics & no ‘rip’ off MMS charge for it ….

Not sure how long - but always too long…… ( but hoping for better )

Happy days.
