07389131456 number claiming to be Three?

Has anyone received a text from this mobile number (07389131456) before claiming to be from Three? Today, a couple of hours after I used instant chat to communicate with Three on their website, I received a text from this number asking about a survey. A quick google search about the number claims that it is owned by Three and used for survey spam, but another says it's used for scams. 

I know, I may be overreacting. But I suffer with debilitating anxiety and need confirmation that this is legit from Three. I tried asking Three but they couldn't help confirm if the number is owned by them, and just highlighted this concern on my account.

I received one today. I later tried to call it from a withheld number, but it does not ring. I have blocked it and I have automatically reported it as spam - for I cannot factually verify it. I’ve been having occasional texts from this number on-and-off for well over a year (these only ever arise after I’ve been in touch with Three, either arriving on the same day, or a day later); but this time was the only time I made the mistake of replying to it via text. Obv. I now worry about what may come of that - with paranoia setting in regarding if a criminal is working at Three and is using their role to scam people via.

It's best to make judgements about unexpected messages based on their contents. Unfortunately scammers are capable of faking the phone number they're contacting you from, so we don't put statements on the community confirming our outbound contact numbers. Scammers will be able to see our posts here too, so they'll impersonate the numbers. 

Here's a link to our page on fraud to watch out for. This gives a lot of helpful information on different types of fraud, and how to report them.

It's best to scrutinise what the messages are informing or asking you, if you've received a message asking questions like how would you rate the service you've received from Three, were all your queries resolved etc, then this is likely a legitimate survey.

If you receive messages asking you to visit links which aren't hosted on https://three.co.uk, or https://3.uk  then this is more likely to be smishing and scams. Likewise if you're asked to disclose any personal or financial information this is also a warning sign of a scam.

I will note also, we never call from 07 numbers (or 01/02 landlines), but I can confirm you may receive texts asking about how the service you've received has been if you've called, chatted, or popped into store (assuming the store has accessed your account).
