Can I get back an old number?

sc

About 4 years ago, I had a different three PAYG sim card, and used it for 2FA.

Unfortunately, I forgot to use it regularly, and it was deactivated after a year or so. I asked customer service at the time if it could be recovered, and they said no, it would have been recycled.

I still have that sim card, I was hoping the number might be recycled again, and if so could I claim it? Is this possible or should I throw it away?

When did you last use the number?

Hi @mo_uk19,

Please don't share personal details like mobile numbers on the Community. As the post is public you'd be sharing this with anyone that views it.

Is this a similar situation to what the original poster @sc described, do you know roughly when the number was disconnected, and was it a PAYG that hasn't been used for a long time?

Thanks,
Jonathan

@JonathanB hey! I have a similar situation: my number was deactivated yesterday, it was used for incoming calls, but without outbound activity for the last 6 months. Customer support told me it was impossible to get back the number in any form. Do you think you can help? Thank you very much!

Hey @void,

Sorry if it's a PAYG number disconnected due to exclusively being used for inbound usage we aren't able to reconnect this.

Thanks,
Jonathan

If it was a PAYG and you have not made a call or text in 180 days then your number is lost. However, if you have lost the SIM an may have made a call or text within the last 180 days then you should be able to get a replacement SIM. Google 3 replacement SIM for details.

If it was a pay monthly and you have been paying but not using the Google 3 replacement SIM.
