some how mad4mobiles scam got the phone number inside a three router and has been charging £4.50 a week for the past 7 weeks on my account.
i rang the number to cancel it from my landline but its automated message says there is no premium services attached to my number. how am i a supposed to ring from a data only simcard in my router to cancel it??
I contacted three support who apparently put a block on it and all premium services. but ill have to wait till next week to see if it works. has anyone else been caught out by this scam

@SaftekI don't think they have taken the phone number from "the inside of the router"...
simply mobile operators have blocks of phone numbers allocated. So these people have tools to randomize numbers and "check" or guess whether such numbers are in use. Unfortunately anyone can become a victim of PRS scam.
Have you looked at this post https://community.three.co.uk/t5/Account-and-services/Fraudulent-billing-of-4-50-weekly/td-p/28004 sounded like Three can only block PRS...
Also, Premium Rate Services (PRS) used to be overseen by PSA and now is Ofcom, so have a look into their webesites and of course check at other mobile operators users forum for + ideas.
good luck
