Changing the wifi password on older hub...

SuperSuze
Fledgling

Hello, newbie here! Nice to meet you all....

A quick question about changing passwords for home WiFi, which is causing me confusion.

I have an older model Sercomm broadband hub (from a former Three contract which expired in December 2024). Three didn't want the hub back, so instead I took out a further Three contract for a 24 months Unlimited Data Sim and have been using the same broadband hub. It's working perfectly, but I would like to change the WiFi password and cannot figure out how to achieve this simple feat. Three customer services are not helpful, as technically I don't have a new broadband contract (according to them it's a phone SIM card, even though it was sold as a broadband)

Any ideas how to change the WiFi password?

Many thanks,

SuperSuze

Hi @SuperSuze,

Welcome to the Community.

I don't have a manual for that one to hand, but keen to help. Is it the Sercomm 4g+ LTE2122GR  router? Generally you'd enter 192.168.8.1 on your browser, then the Admin login and password for the hub will be on the label on the back or base of the router.

Once in the admin settings, there tends to be settings for the "SSID" which is the name of the Wi-Fi network, and options to customise the password/passkey for the network.

Hope this helps, but let me know if that points you in the right direction or need any more support. If you're still stuck, please let me know how far you're getting with the process, is it trouble logging into the router admin, or with finding the specific settings to change the Wi-Fi password?

Thanks,
Jonathan
