Intermittent connection issues loading/changing site- secure connection failed/site can't be reached

Is anyone else occasionally getting a 'connection down' error from Chrome (or 'Secure Connection Failed' from Firefox) when changing page - if I hit refresh it works fine. At first I wondered if it was the site I was using but have noticed it on multiple different major websites over the past couple of months and not noticed it from other locations where I don't use Three Broadband so does seem to be related to the router/connection (this is via wired Ethernet too, so not a WiFi problem).  I've tried changing DNS server in case that helps but no difference.

It mainly seems to happen when trying to first load a site or (annoyingly) at checkout when a different site is being loaded as part of the checkout process.  It certainly doesn't happen everytime but does happen with reasonable frequency.  I've also noticed I often get it when trying to pull/push from/to Github too and have to do so a number of times for it to work (browsing the Github website works fine).

I'm using a NR5103E with Firmware Version V1.00(ACBJ.0)b14 - I tried rebooting it but to no effect.

Who knows, nothing is transparent or obvious with the filtering that they do, even if you have adult filters on I've heard stories of it kicking in for some people randomly.  They should have properly crafted redirection error pages clearly indicating why you're being blocked at any given time if you are blocked. 😞

For me it kicked in randomly after a reboot.  At the time was struggling to find my account login (because they changed the login section so had to reregister etc) - however on rebooting the router, the adult filter was back off again - strange one - tho the typical errors typically persisted while that session was active

A probable red herring, but the linked exe downloads fine for me, both Chrome and Firefox

The only downloads from a browser thing I can simulate every single time, over hundreds of files is using the real-debrid service

I haven't had any 'secure connection failed' errors for the last couple of weeks but instead some pages will randomly fail to load completely or pause for a while and then load as normal. Maybe Three made some changes in the background but the issue is not fully fixed.

Does everybody use the same NR5103E Hub, or are there various models in use?

The issue is definitely not a router specific issue as I have tested on a ZTE MC801A and a Zyxel NR5103EV2 with no apparent changes

I would have tested on another router but it had a faulty SIM card slot - Something that may still be common amongst the routers provided

Sometimes I would experience similar issues when testing although I did not think too much about them at the time as it would happen quite often on the 3internet APN but very rarely on the three.co.uk APN (And iD Mobile's APN which I am now using)

It is likely related to the usual issue

Some days seem significantly worse than others needing to hit refresh half a dozen times for links to start working etc.

Another issue I'm getting is affecting work more recently....obviously work is generally on a VPN, but some things are split tunneled, and some of those that are are affected are causing a huge pain so I have to RDP to a server to then do some simple tasks instead

Recently I've also had issues with PS5 randomly failing to login to Playstation network when starting an online game such as Valorant which causes the game to give an error. I'm wondering if this issue is also related to this topic of this thread.

Ookla Speedtest is also occasionally failing with a 'network error' when attempting to perform a test.
