Hi everyone,
Great news! We’ve added 92 new destinations to Go Roam – with over 160 in total - from beautiful Thailand to vibrant Mexico.
And with Go Roam Around the World Extra, you can explore while accessing your plan’s data, minutes, and texts with our inclusive daily roaming passes.*
No inclusive passes? No problem. When visiting a Go Roam Around the World Extra destination, you can unlock your plan’s data, minutes, and texts for £7 for 24hrs* or buy a 3, 7, or 14 day Go Roam Around the World Extra Pass before you travel for even better savings. You can check the rates for any roaming destination before you travel on our Roaming Support page. And if it’s time to renew your plan, why not take advantage of our Value and Complete plans which are bundled with up to 56 days of inclusive Roaming passes, as well as other perks such as Paramount+, extended warranty, free screen repairs and more!
We hope that adding more destinations than ever before to Go Roam is a welcome change. Please let us know in your replies what you think of this new expansion to our Go Roam services, and where you’ll be off to this summer? Read more on the Three blog.
*Fair usage policy applies.
Available on all Pay Monthly plans for customers who have joined, or renewed after 1 October 2021 (no other plans, including Pay As You Go or Pay Monthly plans entered into before 1 October 2021, will be impacted by these changes and will continue to be charged at current standard roaming rates)

I’m currently in New York, I can’t use my phone anywhere that doesn’t have Wi-Fi - what kind of Go Roam do I need for USA? And how do I get it? I joined Three in about 2003

Hey @BabsM
Welcome to the Three Community Page.
The USA is one of our Go Roam around the world destinations and you can find more information on what applies to yourself here.
Also please ensure that roaming is active on your account and you have updated your spend limit to allow for the daily charge.
Hope this helps!

Hello 3 Team!
Can you kindly advise if i will be able to use phone and data as usual and wont' incur additional costs if i have the Daily Go Roam Pass - EU & ATW and i will be travelling to Japan?
Many thanks,
Manuel

Hi Manuel,
That sounds awesome, hope you enjoy your trip to Japan!
Japan is a Go Roam Around the World Extra destination. This does mean that Go Roam EU, and Go Roam Around The World passes won't work there.
As long as you've renewed your plan since October 2021 then you can pay the £7 daily roaming charge, or use inclusive Go Roam passes if these were supplied with your plan at the time you joined or renewed. You can also purchase a bundle of passes for Go Roam Around The World Extra destinations.
Alternatively, if you've renewed on a Complete plan since 22 June 2025 you'll have inclusive Go Roam without the need to pay for passes. Our Roaming Destination Checker can give more info on all your options.
Thanks,
Jonathan

Been given some very confusing advice by online CS. I have Advanced Plan Pre Oct 21 with Calls and data in Europe & various destinations around the world which have used for many years without issue.
I am travelling to an Extra destination and your customer service has told me that I will have £7 a day added to my bill automatically to use calls and data and no further action is required from myself.
is this correct?

Hi, I’ve just had a very confusing online chat with about these passes and really would like some better clarity before I purchase.
If travelling to Australia for almost a month but visiting Thailand for a few days on the way home - I thought a 14 day Go Roam pass would cover the first part of the trip (to use my allowances), and then a Go Roam Extra pass would cover the end of the trip (as both destinations are listed). I was told no - I had to purchase a pass for each - so I’d have to buy 2 x Go Roam 14 days and then an Extra pass for 5 days. Doesn’t seem to make sense to buy a new pass for each country as you don’t have the freedom to roam country to country, so surely it would be advertised as such??!
I referred to the info on the website about the countries listed but he sent me links to a data passport instead.
I don’t feel confident in buying any of them at the moment! Would a travel sim be better (and if so do I have to change my phone number to have that)?
thanks!

Hi there @wheatabex84,
Thanks for reaching out here.
As Thailand is a Go Roam Around the World Extra destination and Australia is a Go Roam Around the World destination, they are categorised separately and would require separate passes.
However, you can use the higher-tier passes to be used in the lower-tier destinations, i.e., Go Roam Around the World Extra passes can also be used in Go Roam Around the World/Europe countries.
If you travel between countries that fall under the same pass, you'd be able to use any additional days left for those countries. However, if you're in Australia first (Go Roam Around the World), as Thailand falls under Go Roam around the World Extra, there would be a need for a separate pass due to the latter being the highest tier.
If you use a Pay as You Go SIM and have a Data Pack active, there's no daily charge to roam and you can use a portion of your data allowance when roaming.
A Data Passport is a separate option that you can use to get unlimited data for 24 hours when roaming. This can be a boost if you're abroad for a while and use up the fair usage limit (12GB) or the Data Pack allowance.
Please see the table below for some useful info on pass validity and price.
Thanks,
Michael

What I’m trying to say is that if I have the Go Roam Extra whilst in Australia and then move to Thailand surely this covers both?
I can spend 14 day in Australia on the Go Roam pass and then purchase the Extra pass for my final days in Australia and Thailand as surely by having the Extra pass covers both countries (and my Go Roam pass has expired by then)?

Hi @wheatabex84,
Thanks for your reply, and apologies for any confusion caused.
If you have a Go Roam Around the World Extra pass, you are correct that this would cover both Australia and Thailand😊.
As it's the highest-tier pass, it would work in Australia, any days left over from your time in Australia can be used in Thailand.
I hope you enjoy your travels, and please feel free to come back if I can clarify anything else.
Thanks,
Michael
