I am struggling to get my Xbox to work on Xbox live. Doing some googling it seems that the MTU is too low, it is 1360 and should be about 1385 to be able to work properly. I have rung three who seem to have no knowledge of what an MTU is and have sent me to the ombudsman. I have logged into the router (H122-373) and increased the MTU manually however it will not pull through onto my XBOX. I have put it in the DMZ, enabled UPNP and generally faffed with it as much as i can but the MTU on the XBOX does not change. I am assuming this is what is being sent from three and so it is something to be changed at three's end...
Does anyone else have any experience of this, or have any issues with XBOX live and home broadband 5g? or can they get it to work, cheers

Hi @MrSimo98, @jamestaylor9999,
I'm sorry for the lack of updates on this particular issue. I'm trying to get this investigated further and have sent you both private messages to link you in with some colleagues that can gather account and connection info, and arrange for this to be looked into in more detail.
Thanks,
JonathanB

Hmm, interesting but I get a MTU value of 1500 (1472 + 28) with a Ping test from my PC.

Can someone with a MTU value of 1360 on their Xbox, try the ping test from a PC?

Is there anyways this can be fixed or should I cancel and go elsewhere?

Currently there seems to be no way of fixing this as it's a problem with Three directly. People are raising concerns about this issue daily but little response seems to be coming back. It's such a shame because my personal experience speeds are great, but the MTU problem is limiting online play drastically.

JonathanB mentioned in this post that the MTU is set by Three so changing on the router won't make any difference.

If you have a PC, you can perform a Ping test to find out the ideal MTU size : How to find the proper MTU size for my network | TP-Link United Kingdom
Have you tried connecting the Xbox to the router via ethernet cable?

Jonathan has mentioned that the MTU value is set by Three and it appears to be 1500 from the Ping test. I just want to mention that changing the MTU value in the ETHWAN entry will make no difference as this only applies if using the router LAN2 as a WAN port and connected to a modem/ONT/ONU for a FTTP connection. ETHWAN is disabled (shown in the Traffic Status page) as the 5103E is using cellular WAN.

Hi, From the web configurator
Network Setting > Broadband > Broadband > For entry ETHWAN > Click Modify
My MTU was already set to 1500 (1472 + 28) which is the optimum for my network.
