MTU for XBOX live mutliplayer gaming on 5g home broadband

I am struggling to get my Xbox to work on Xbox live. Doing some googling it seems that the MTU is too low, it is 1360 and should be about 1385 to be able to work properly. I have rung three who seem to have no knowledge of what an MTU is and have sent me to the ombudsman. I have logged into the router (H122-373) and increased the MTU manually however it will not pull through onto my XBOX. I have put it in the DMZ, enabled UPNP and generally faffed with it as much as i can but the MTU on the XBOX does not change. I am assuming this is what is being sent from three and so it is something to be changed at three's end...

Does anyone else have any experience of this, or have any issues with XBOX live and home broadband 5g? or can they get it to work, cheers

Hi, From the web configurator

Network Setting > Broadband > Broadband > For entry ETHWAN > Click Modify

My MTU was already set to 1500 (1472 + 28) which is the optimum for my network.

Thank you for your response, this is the first time I've found the MTU option in my Three Router. Agreed mine also says that it's set at 1500 but upon doing tests on the Xbox it's set at 1360, very strange.

I contacted three over the phone and went to the complaint's department and luckily they canceled my contract free of charge. Seems like this issues won't get resolved.

I have completed this and was told I would be contacted in 72 hours by the social media team but still nothing, do you know if other people have managed to get a response or progress yet?

I'm in the same boat also, I contacted support who then escalated my case further, I was told I'd get a phone call back within a few days. I still haven't received anything either.

Having the same issues with FIFA 23 on Series S, really frustrating soon as I get into a game after a minute the game freezes and I get the loss.
