At a large public event, circa 50,000 people in attendance, I received the same message. I assumed it was to protect their network due to the high demand for data and calls. EE seemed to cope, slow but present.

This could be indicative of planned maintenance, a local outage, or congestion in your local area. Are there any issues showing on the Network Status Checker?
