Fledgling

I can send and receive messages in the USA but every time I try and make a direct call to the same numbers I get a recorded message saying I have reached my Monthly credit limited. This is baffling. What am I paying for?

Hi @PeterGee,

I'll do my best to help. Are we talking about contacting USA numbers whilst you're over there, or back to the UK? Here's the USA roaming rates, Making calls to US numbers can be quite expensive at £1.40 per minute whereas text is considerably cheaper at 2p per message, so this may be why you're able to message without reaching the limit.

If the issue is with contacting UK numbers, then it would come under Go Roam, and you'd be able to use your minutes/text from your plan. If you joined or renewed after October 2021 you do need to have at least £5 for the daily charge left on your spend/credit limit to unlock your UK allowance.

I'll send you a private message to get you in touch with some colleagues that can help with amending the credit limit. To view your private messages on the community, click on your avatar image in the top right of any community page, then "Messages".

Hope this helps,
JonathanB
