Hi, I have a pay monthly SIM and I am moving back to Australia for 2 years. I need my UK number for 2FA and to receive any calls. I don't need data. I am trying to understand how to have the SIM connected to AUS networks without triggering daily roaming charges so I can receive the odd text and call from the UK? I have been told in a Three store that roaming charges are only triggered if data is on and it doesn't cost extra to receive texts or calls from the UK. Is that correct?
The advice you've been given sounds correct I think.
Although I think I read somewhere that the line MIGHT be disconnected after a time, if it was solely being used for that purpose. Not 100% sure though.
