Swapping a number between three sims

Hi I want to change my contract to a phone from Samsung with a three contract sim. I'm currently om three but they can't match the deal even via an upgrade. If I was to take out the new three contract via Samsung is it possible to transfer my number from my current sim/contract to the new three sim/contract

Hi @NW you can’t actually move a number between Three contracts I am afraid the only way around this would be to port your number out to another network via a PAC code and then port it back in on to the new sim you receive with the new contract.

hope this helps

Thx for reply, in this instance, you can buy s25u then add a 3 contact, saves around £600, but i want to use my same number on the new 3 contact, looks like after alot of googling, 3 dont allow porting number between same network.

You'd be unable to transfer the number from 1 account to another. You could port the number out to PAYG on another network, then port it back.

Pete.

Thx for reply, i guess if i just bought a s25u sim free, with no contract, i could just pop in my current PAYG sim, and all would be fine correct ? and as my s5 from 2014 uses a micro sim, i could ask 3/Three for a nano sim with my current number on it for the s25u correct ?

Hi @Daytrader,

Yeah no problem whatsoever with taking an existing SIM and inserting it in a new SIM free handset. You can either ask the team to post one, or pop into a Three store if you need a different size of SIM. Either way we can transfer your existing number and PAYG account over.

Thanks,
Jonathan

No worries, I should just add, if you visit a Three store for a replacement SIM, make sure to bring a photo ID which matches your registered details on the account too!
