I have two Phone a Iphone 16 and Iphone 15 both running IOS 18.5. The Iphone 16 has stopped wifi calling. I have done all the normal resets, reboots, and even reloaded a new esim into the phone, but still no Wifi Calling. If I put them both into airplane mode the 15 has wifi calling the 16 does not. both have wifi calling turned on in the esim settings.
I have contacted support and they say it must be the phone, contacted Apple and they say its Three
I need Wifi calling as the phone signal is 1 bar or nothing most of the time.
Any ideas would be appreciated

Hi everyone,
Thanks for your patience whilst we've been working on sorting this issue out. We started rolling out a fix yesterday evening, and it should have landed with you all by this morning.
If you've not picked up the 64.2 carrier update automatically, try checking in your Settings, General, About and you can also manually check for the update. Please let us know if you're still experiencing any issues with your Wi-Fi calling.
I appreciate everyone's feedback around this issue. I'll be sharing this to the relevant teams.
Thanks,
Jonathan

64.2 Carrier update seems to have fixed it, just a shame that Three would not even acknowledge they had a problem, and only through here did it get enough awareness for Three to do something about it.

hi could you tell your technical team please? I’ve argued with them today that WiFi calling is a network provider issue but they insisted that meant my WiFi network provider.
where can I find that setting on an iPhone 14?
thanks

@Dornie I can understand how fustrating and enfuriating it is discussing such topics with some agents in contact centers.
I think we all agreed that Three comms regarding the Wifi calling and Apple's carrier update issue was extremely poor.
Expanding a bit...
"Wifi Calling" needs to be supported by the network and by the handset/phone itself , it's symbiotic.
I'm "lucky" enough that I have an Android handset and so I didn't have any problems with Wifi Calling a bit like all other Android users in Three network where the handset supports and have wifi calling option.
Unfortunately, iphone users in Three Network that accepted or were forced to accept carrier setttings v64.1 had problems with wifi calling because apple carrier settings imo went pear-shaped!
Note: Androids have a similar concept of carrier settings and also again depends on the handset manufacturer.
I think the question here is maybe to search up and understand what are the carrier settings, who controls and how such is created. And then take your own conclusions.

Hi @Dornie,
This issue if it's the same really ought to have automatically been patched. Here's a more detailed page from Apple Support on how to check for a carrier update: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/109324
If you generally have trouble with coverage at home, it may also be worth trying to set your phone to airplane mode, and check for an update when connected to Wi-Fi only.
Thanks,
Jonathan

Look in settings/Mobile service/Wi-Fi calling. You can then toggle the service on or off from there.

Thank you. It just doesn’t seem right that as a Three customer, any info about the issue had to be gleaned from a different network; not my own. The more info most reasonable people are presented with, negates any frustration because you know updates are in the mix. The status page said nothing, customer service were not aware of any issues 🤷♂️.I genuinely feel there are lessons to be learnt here.

Just had a Network carrier update, it now says 64.2, Wifi calling back working again.

Yes same here. Crap happens but it’s the total lack of information that naffs me off. Lessons genuinely need to be learned here.
