Home broadband ZTE MC888a router

Javii
Fledgling

I have the ZTE 5g home broadband, router model: MC888a. I got it about 3 days ago and my internet speeds are terrible on average I’m getting less than 4 mbp down and 12 mbp up. Also the light that indicates if the router is connected to 5g or 4g is blue which means I’m connected to 4g. I checked online and some people said to update the router to connect to 5g but it says it’s on the latest one which is: BD_H3GUKMC888AV1.0.0B03.

anyone know what I can do to get faster speeds and to get 5g connection?????

Hi @Javii,

Sorry to hear the speeds are letting you down. You can check if there are any known issues locally with our Network Status Checker, once you've checked there, I'd also recommend to double check the coverage tab to make sure you're within expected 5G coverage.

There's some further tips on positioning your router for best performance here.

Let me know what you find on the checkers and/or if experimenting with alternative placement of the router helps at all.

Thanks,
Jonathan
