I have the ZTE 5g home broadband, router model: MC888a. I got it about 3 days ago and my internet speeds are terrible on average I’m getting less than 4 mbp down and 12 mbp up. Also the light that indicates if the router is connected to 5g or 4g is blue which means I’m connected to 4g. I checked online and some people said to update the router to connect to 5g but it says it’s on the latest one which is: BD_H3GUKMC888AV1.0.0B03.
anyone know what I can do to get faster speeds and to get 5g connection?????

Hi @Javii,
Sorry to hear the speeds are letting you down. You can check if there are any known issues locally with our Network Status Checker, once you've checked there, I'd also recommend to double check the coverage tab to make sure you're within expected 5G coverage.
There's some further tips on positioning your router for best performance here.
Let me know what you find on the checkers and/or if experimenting with alternative placement of the router helps at all.
Thanks,
Jonathan

Hi
ok so just checked the network status checker and there those seem to be an issue in my area. Also checked the coverage tab and 5g is available in my area however changing the router’s location unfortunately has not helped. I guess I’ll have to wait until the issue in the area is resolved.
thanks for the help.

No worries @Javii, glad we've at least found some sort of explanation.
If these issues are continuing to cause you disruption, you may also want to get in touch. The customer services team should be able to take a closer look at the specific fault and help understand if 5G isn't broadcasting or has reduced coverage due to the issue, and hopefully give you a bit more insight as to when we hope to get back to normal.
If this is a new account we also have a 30 day extended returns period for Broadband, so if the issues are taking too long to resolve you can also get in touch to discuss your options further.
Please let us know when the speeds pick up or if you're still struggling to stay connected in the next few days.
Thanks,
Jonathan
