Since updating to iOS 18.2 I’ve been unable to use WiFi calling on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I’m When it is enabled I cannot make or received calls. My cell quality is noticeably poorer when I have this option disabled. Can anyone help with this? I’ve even tried using the Beta 18.3 and it hasn’t fixed the issue.

Hi @Kevvvy,
Sorry to hear about this issue with your Wi-Fi calling, but glad to hear that you were able to narrow things down somewhat to the router. I just wanted to clarify are normal voice calls working when you have sufficient coverage for this?
If so, it may be worth checking with the ISP if it's just that one specific Wi-Fi connection affected and you can still make normal calls over mobile signal.
Thanks,
Jonathan

Thanks. Once I’ve finished working today I’m going to try and reset the router. Working in a Tech Support job I’m trying everything 😂
When WiFi calling is enabled in Settings I cannot make or receive calls. I tested this last night and the call rang on my wife’s iPhone but didn’t connect from my side nor did I get a ringtone. She answered but no one was on the call. As weird as anything

Hi,
Its working for me
have you rebooted & toggled WiFi call on/off etc
Also, WiFi calling only normally shows if determined that mobile signal is weak - does not always appear when say, I am in a strong 5G area & connected to WiFi ( it will stay on 5G )
I would also try at another WiFi location ( as maybe the update now requires different wifi setup - so is ‘picky’ about what is allows for WiFi calling

Thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate it
Done a bit of messing about today. Used my work phone as a hotspot and was able to make calls so that made me think it was a problem with Sky WiFi. But my work phone is 18.2 and works fine
I’ve reset network settings on my phone, set phone up as a brand new phone and tried airplane mode off and on then mobile settings off and on but no success. It’s looking likely to be the router I think so will work on that. Just seems weird that this only started happening after the 18.2 update.
wish I could get a new phone😂

That is a good shout @Clever-Trevor
On Android I often activate aeroplane mode i.e. ON and then I just switch ON the wifi (so mobile data/network is off). In this way I get on wifi calling regarless of the radio/cell coverage 😀 and SMS still works, I guess that is because of IMS
