When visiting a Go Roam Around the World Extra destination, you can unlock your plan’s data, minutes, and texts for £7 for 24hrs* or buy a 3, 7, or 14 day Go Roam Around the World Extra Pass before you travel for even better savings. You can check the rates for any roaming destination before you travel on our Roaming Support page. And if it’s time to renew your plan, why not take advantage of our Value and Complete plans which are bundled with up to 56 days of inclusive Roaming passes, as well as other perks such as Paramount+, extended warranty, free screen repairs and more!

Great question! Yes and no. USA is considered Go Roam Around the World. So if you're paying Daily Roaming charge this is only £5 per day, as opposed to £7 per day for Extra destinations.

However, if you purchase a bundle of passes to use for the USA, this can either be the Go Roam Around the World or the ATW Extra one. Good time to ask this question, as we've got a sale on detailed here: Save with Go Roam Passes this summer 

Essentially to keep things simple, if you buy passes for a more expensive tier, you can use them in any of the cheaper ones too, which is perfect if touring multiple destinations in a short space of time.

Hi Jonathan, I understand that the Go Roam ATW Extra will activate when I make a first chargeable transaction in one of the territories covered by the GR ATW Extra, but my question is… can I buy the the GR ATW Extra today and first use it in, say, 3 months time…or it there a time limit to use it once it’s been purchased?  Many thanks 🙂

Yes no worries at all, you can pre-purchase a bundle of passes. Although if you'll be due to renew your plan before you next travel, you may want to check out this article Go Roam is changing…

So I purchased the Go Roam Worldwide Extra plan which I was told has 3000 minutes but it won’t let me cal anyone. I can only receive incoming calls which doesn’t work for me because I need to call people while we are on holiday to arrange meeting them. Why won’t it let me call any numbers on this plan with the minutes??

Hi @EmilyRC5,

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your calls. You should be able to make calls back to the UK whilst in an applicable destination, but calling local numbers in the destination is chargeable.

If you do mean UK calls aren't working i.e. you're calling other UK mobiles then I'd recommend to check that you're dialling in international format +447xxxxxxxxx rather than 07xxxxxxxxx as this may cause a call to fail whilst on a roaming network.

Hi Jonathan hope you are good, if I want 7 days data roaming can I pay for it before I leave UK or I can start once I reach ny destination (Malaysia)?
