Calls

Blueray
Fledgling

Hi there

Since last Wednesday I have been unable to make calls from my mobile to a specific landline number.  I'm with 3 mobile and the landline is with virgin. I have tried ringing other numbers and the ones I've tried so far all go through and connect. What happens when I try to ring this specific number is the display says calling then after about 5 seconds a red message comes up saying call ended. As far as I can tell its not a network issue. The phone I have is a Samsung Galaxy and the phone I'm ringing is a Panasonic. I don't have any barred calls and looking on the landline it says caller "barred, memory empty". I've had a few conversations on line with 3 and a couple of shops and they all haven't been able to explain whats going on. Is there anyone that can suggest what might be causing the problem as i'm/other family members are at the end of our tether!?

MMany thanks

Hi @Blueray,

Sorry to hear this it sounds like a really frustrating issue. If it's an issue between two specific numbers, and we've eliminated any call barring/screening, it's likely that one provider or the other has a fault.

"call ended" unfortunately isn't the best indicator as to which end has the problem, as this could mean that Virgin is accepting the call, then is effectively hanging up the call automatically, but it could equally mean we're having problems routing the call to their landline network.

The main difficulty is figuring out which provider has the issue. Have you checked with Virgin if they're able to trace the calls hitting your landline? Likewise, it's best for customer services to raise this with our Tech team. It's an unusual type of issue, but if they're passed times of a few recent failed calls they should be able to look into it further.

Thanks,
Jonathan
