Intermittent problems making or receiving calls

Hello I updated my phone to the iphone 16 pro just over a month ago and have been having problems making and receiving calls this last week but only on the occasion.

Most of the time my calls will go through with no issues and then occasionally I will get a call and not realise until I receive a message saying I have a voicemail or a message from the person contacting me to ask why I haven’t answered. I never receive a notification for the missed call and find I can’t call them back when I try.
There is no error message no dial tone nothing and I will have signal the whole time. I can use data/wifi fine to facetime them back and can still receive messages.
I have turned off live voicemail but that hasn’t improved and there is sometimes a long delay between dialling and connecting. I am worried because if I need to make a call in an emergency and this happens at the time I will be completely vulnerable.

I have the same problem. Sometimes I try to make calls and they sound like they are ringing but they just ring forever. I now know that those calls are not actually going through at all. I also just tested with my husband trying to call me and it went straight to voicemail without ringing. I then get a text message saying missed a call. Not sure what to do!

I get exactly the same thing. Very random. Some calls get through, some don't. I've been on to Three on a number of occasions. Spent an hour on the phone yesterday, changing settings, resetting network etc, but still no joy. I went into the THREE shop and they swapped out the SIM card. Still not working. What can I do. I rely on my phone everything, including family, but they can't get through. Help and advice appreciated. Also if people have been calling THREE technical services, what are your thoughts.

Hi there @Dai,

It's not ideal to hear that you've had these calling problems and that you've had no joy after working with customer services to troubleshoot them.

Were any network issues highlighted in your area on the Coverage and Network Status checker?

Were alternative options for your account discussed with you due to the calling errors being ongoing?

I logged the call a week ago (I have a reference) and was told it would be treated as a high priority. The person on the call confirmed that there were no network issues in my area. Nothing has come back to me. Have they been trying to call me? If so, I haven't received any calls. I wonder why? What's classed as a high priority?

If the team have already confirmed there was no issues in the area, what was the call back arranged for? Was there something else that was being looked into? 

Raising something as high priority could mean many things depending on what is being done. It might be that the agent put it at the front of their queue, or it could mean they highlighted the issue to another team and marked it as high priority in order to speed up their reply. It's hard to know for sure.

Hi,

I’m also suffering from this very same issue that others are having. Today was the latest of suffering from the issue, and only knew again when I received a WhatsApp message asking why their call was going straight to my voicemail. I tried to call them back but was unable to do so, no dial tone, nothing! I had to put my phone in to flight mode several times for it to start working again. 
The frequency of this occurrence appears to becoming more frequent.

This issue only started after your major outage in January. I had never had this issue until then but now is becoming a weekly issue. 

I am on the verge now of moving my phone contract to another network provider.

Iv been having the same issues! Iv tried my sim in another phone and it’s still happening.

I'm really sorry to hear about the disruption this issue has been causing you. Can I check is this an issue when you're out and about or at home using Wi-Fi calling? Are you using an iPhone?

This is also happening to me and has been for a week now iv rang multiple times they’ve told me it’s a problem with my phone but iv got my sim in another phone and im still having issues 🫠
