Hi I want to change my contract to a phone from Samsung with a three contract sim. I'm currently om three but they can't match the deal even via an upgrade. If I was to take out the new three contract via Samsung is it possible to transfer my number from my current sim/contract to the new three sim/contract

Hi @NW you can’t actually move a number between Three contracts I am afraid the only way around this would be to port your number out to another network via a PAC code and then port it back in on to the new sim you receive with the new contract.
hope this helps

a fair few years ago Three would do this. however since (maybe) 2020 ive had to go via another network. I just buy a PAYG sim for a couple quid. request my PAC and then once complete, Request it back to three. Its still cheaper than the terrible offers that their customer services can offer me Vs going to get a new contract from a third party. Whole things a bit bonkers, it would be a simple change to would give us a great customer service exp and it would cost them nex to nothing to do (and they wouldnt have to keep paying the finders fee to Uswitch etc, on my £8/m contract 😄 )

Hello, I was looking to purchase an existing customer offer for a sim. Would I still have to move my number through another network as you said or can I transfer my number directly on 3.

Can anyone help me please. My son has a payg sim only with three. I’ve taken out a pay monthly contract with three for him to use and he would like to keep the number from his payg. How can I sort that out for him? Thank you!

Hey Alam03,
That's right, you'd have to move your number to another network as we can't transfer Three to Three numbers.

If your existing contract has finished contact Three and ask them to make your existing Sim PAYG. You can then transfer you existing number from the PAYG sim to the new Three contract sim.

Can this be done pretty instantaneously? For example I port existing 3 number today to say an o2 payg sim then port it back to 3 to my new contract a day or two afterwards?
