My wife just got an unsolicited call from someone pretending to be Three. The telephone number displayed as "Thai Sunshine" which appears to be a legitimate thai resturant in Selby. My wife pointed it out and the called said "ignore that". She didn't and ended the call.
Anyone been contacted?

Hi @Caffiniac,
Sorry to hear this, I'm almost certain this will be spoofing, so it's unlikely the scammer is actually calling from the unfortunate restaurant in question. Spoofing means that scammers, usually based abroad, can fake calling from a number of their choosing. Fortunately, many of these groups don't seem to realise that simply calling from a UK number doesn't make their call seem any less suspicious, so they do have a tendency to use 01, 02, or 07 landline or mobile numbers, rather than UK business non-geographic numbers.
More info on spoofing and how to report various types of spam and scam here.
Hope this helps put you at ease, and I'm glad to hear you and your wife clocked on to this being a scam. Thanks for sharing and helping to raise awareness of this.
Thanks,
Jonathan
