Sim Card

Fledgling

We were travelling in the UK from Australia in mid 2023 and we purchased a Three Sim Card and paid a fee each month for unlimited Data Usage.  Will this Card work when travelling to Ireland in mid 2024 even though it won't have been used for 12 months. Or will we need to get another sim on arrival in Dublin

Hey Angela.

Happy to help with this. As @sc1999 has advised there is a possibility that the SIMs have been deactivated as per our PAYG terms. If you've still got these and there is credit on them, you could try the SIMs and make a chargeable call/text/ or instance of data use.

This will allow you to determine if the SIM is still active. If not then it's likely not going to be available for you. However, if it's the Republic of Ireland you're visiting, you'd be able to grab Three ROI SIM on arrival.

Thanks

I believe that once the number has been deactivated it goes to be recycled and passed to a new customer.

A post from a moderator said: "I'd recommend getting this checked out with the PAYG customer services team to confirm the reason your number isn't working, but if this has been deactivated due to not being used for 6 months, we can't generally reactivate it."

If you have any credit try making a call and also call the number, otherwise just get a new sim.
