Hi, I was wondering if someone could help. The issue started a couple of weeks ago where calls might drop randomly, but for the last week I've been unable to make or receive calls.
My phone can display a full signal, but if I attempt to make a call, either the signal just drops and the network becomes "unavailable", or nothing happens--no ring/call tone. From what family and friends tell me when I contact them through something such as Facebook messenger--on their end, it will either ring for a few seconds and go straight to voice mail, or tell them that I'm on another line.
This happens both inside of my home, out in the open.
I've tried removing and reinstalling the SIM, resetting network settings on my handset, and even going far as a factory reset of the phone itself.
I can, however, receive texts (thank goodness because of verification codes) and use internet data. I am PAYG. My phone is a little outdated, a Samsung Galaxy S7, but it does have 4G/LTE--and I'm mentioning this because I'm aware 3G is being phased out. I very recently topped up and did get a text confirming it--as well as addons appearing on my account dashboard.
I hope I'm providing enough information here to troubleshoot.

When I try to make calls, the plus sign next to the 4G on my phone disappears and I can't make or receive calls.
When I hang up the plus sign comes back. Not sure what this means.

This is total BS... just oredwrd a new SIM to find it won't work for phone calls. Looks like I'll be moving all 3 of my mobile SIMS. After all these years it seems 3 obviously don't need my money anymore

I’ve just started getting the same problem last week. I’ve reset the network settings but will only work if I restart the phone then use airplane mode and switch airplane mode back off again, I can then call for a short while, it makes no difference if I’m using 4g or WiFi calling. The phone is an iPhone 14 that’s still in contract with three

Hi @Steph999,
Sorry to hear you've been having issues with your calls recently. Have you been able to test this from more than one location? If not, or it seems to be tied to a particular area, does our Network Status Checker show that we're aware and working on any issues?
There's a list of common troubleshooting on our How to ensure your phone is ready for the 3G switch off article too. Have a look at these and check if any of these help, such as updating the device software, checking VoLTE and 4G data are enabled, and it may also be worth resetting your network settings (we usually recommend to reset network settings last, as this forgets saved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections).
Please let me know if any of these suggestions help.
Thanks,
Jonathan

It’s at my home, I’ve checked and it’s not saying about any issues but if I can’t use the phone here I may as well cancel the contract . If I restart the phone then use airplane mode I can dial out

This issue sounds really frustrating, but we'll do our best to help. It's not clear from what we've discussed if the issue will be a fault with the local network, account, SIM, or phone. Are you able to test your SIM in any other phone to check if the same issue is happening? This may help narrow things down.
As I mentioned on the last response there's a few suggestions on this article: How to ensure your phone is ready for the 3G switch off
Did you check all the instructions relevant for iPhones on this article?
Thanks,
Jonathan

Hello there.
Oh, that's strange. To confirm, the issue is resolve for a while by restarting your phone?
Pete.
