Since updating to iOS 18.2 I’ve been unable to use WiFi calling on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I’m When it is enabled I cannot make or received calls. My cell quality is noticeably poorer when I have this option disabled. Can anyone help with this? I’ve even tried using the Beta 18.3 and it hasn’t fixed the issue.

Thanks for your reply
Yep I’ve done all that. I’ve actually fixed the issue for now
Looked on the Sky community page and it mentioned changing the WiFi security level. This never worked but it made me think about the type of fix I always ask people to try in my own job. I forgot the WiFi name and password and then readded. Job done.

Hi @MSG,
Sorry to hear you've both been experiencing issues with calls lately. If you don't think Wi-Fi calling is relevant here, I'd recommend to have a look at theHow to ensure your phone is ready for the 3G switch off topic. This covers a few options which may help with calling issues. Let me know if the issues persist after following all the suggestions there.
Thanks,
Jonathan.

Thanks. Tried that and still no luck. My daughter tried calling both phones and gets a dial tone but nothing appears on either phone. Seems to be better with the data but on WiFi calling nothing happens. Any more ideas? (Thanks for your help!)

Hello there.
Have you tried resetting the network settings of both phones just to make sure the defaults are there and the latest carrier settings are installed?
If that doesn't help, and you're finding more success with normal calls over cellular connection, it might be worth turning Wifi calling off for now.
Pete.

Thanks. Once I’ve finished working today I’m going to try and reset the router. Working in a Tech Support job I’m trying everything 😂
When WiFi calling is enabled in Settings I cannot make or receive calls. I tested this last night and the call rang on my wife’s iPhone but didn’t connect from my side nor did I get a ringtone. She answered but no one was on the call. As weird as anything

Thanks @Kevvvy let us know how you get on.
Really odd what happened on the call to your wife's phone, so was there an error on your phone, or did the call app just crash, minimise, or disappear? Not quite sure I understand as you're saying she still got the call even though it didn't go through from your end?
Thanks,
Jonathan

Hi,
Its working for me
have you rebooted & toggled WiFi call on/off etc
Also, WiFi calling only normally shows if determined that mobile signal is weak - does not always appear when say, I am in a strong 5G area & connected to WiFi ( it will stay on 5G )
I would also try at another WiFi location ( as maybe the update now requires different wifi setup - so is ‘picky’ about what is allows for WiFi calling

Thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate it
Done a bit of messing about today. Used my work phone as a hotspot and was able to make calls so that made me think it was a problem with Sky WiFi. But my work phone is 18.2 and works fine
I’ve reset network settings on my phone, set phone up as a brand new phone and tried airplane mode off and on then mobile settings off and on but no success. It’s looking likely to be the router I think so will work on that. Just seems weird that this only started happening after the 18.2 update.
wish I could get a new phone😂

That is a good shout @Clever-Trevor
On Android I often activate aeroplane mode i.e. ON and then I just switch ON the wifi (so mobile data/network is off). In this way I get on wifi calling regarless of the radio/cell coverage 😀 and SMS still works, I guess that is because of IMS
