Will it be free to receive incoming calls and texts in Go Roam Around The World Extra destinations when these services become available from 26 June ?

Hi @tarantella,

I had a check with my contacts on this and receiving calls and texts will be free. You only trigger Go Roam daily fees or use roaming passes if you access your allowances. So basically making a call, text, or using some mobile data. Whereas there's no "allowance" used when you get a call or text in.

I'm really excited to share more about this service with the Community, we'll have more info soon. 🙂

Thanks,
Jonathan

I have an old 3 contract - over 10 years old - which includes Go Roam - will the Go Roam Around The World Extra destinations automatically be included?

Hey @escapeman,

For the older plans, Go Roam Around the World Extra isn't included, so any usage in these destinations would be chargeable. You can check out the destinations, as well as fees on our Older Plans price guide.

I hope this helps,
Kate

Hi, can you advise the way the ATW EXTRA add on works…… it says 3 days but is that 72 hours from when the add on was purchased or does the day run out at mid night - thx

Hi @Sandy2801,

Good news there, the Add On activates when you first make use of allowances in an applicable roaming destination, so you can pre-purchase these before you travel.

Once activated by usage like a call or text to home, or using some roaming data, the 72 hours is in real time, e.g activated 19/02 11:00- 22/02 10:59 so it won't expire at midnight on day 3 (unless you actually activate it at midnight of course!).

There's similar Add Ons for Go Roam in Europe, Around the World, and Around the World Extra, just make sure to buy the correct one for your destination.

You can find out more, and some handy links on our article Introducing Go Roam Around the World Extra

Thanks,
Jonathan

Will it be possible to buy Data Passports in the 92 new destinations ?

Hi @tarantella,

Great question! Data Passport is a separate service from Go Roam. You can find more info on Data Passport and included destinations here. These include a mixture of both Go Roam and non Go Roam destinations, and allow you to buy unlimited data for £5 per day.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Or to put it another way..........

In all current Go Roam destinations (ATW and Europe) it is possible to buy Data Passports,  so will that trend continue with Go Roam ATW Extra ?

Hi @tarantella,

I'm not aware of any plans to change the destinations included in Data Passport at the moment, but I'll certainly pass the suggestion on.

Thanks,
Jonathan
