As you're going away for 7 months, there will be a 5 months period where the SIM won't be much use. You will be able to use Go Roam for up to 2 months while there.
If you're outside of the contract minimum term, you could reduce the cost of the SIM plan all the way down to the cheapest deal on a rolling monthly plan, then increase it back to something larger when you come back and plan to use it again.
