Hi ,
I have a ZTE MC801A router which i recieved from three when i signed up to the 5g hub internet when i moved into my new house. Since then i have not recieved push notifications through to my phone, neither has my girlfriend. When we disconnect from the wifi and to 4G roaming we recieve all the notifications we should have at once. This also means our Google Hello doorbell does not work - it does not send notifications through on home when we are connected to wifi and also means we do not hear the doorbell as it wont send a chime through to the Google Mini speaker. Ive tried port fowarding Port 5228, reset to factory settings, enabled UPNP and reset the Google Home devices with no luck.... Any idea?

Phoning three on 500 from my three mobile I got the adult filters removed. No I get all my notifications. This is probably why it's affecting phones now as well.

Interesting, as this would also explain why some users have the issue and others are not, as many have the filter enabled by default and many like myself have all restrictions removed straight away.
FYI @JonathanB

This problem appears to be widening. It seems to be affecting phones now as well. We live in E14 and also have the ZTE 5G Hub. I get push notifications when disconnect my phone from the Wifi and use mobile data via O2. My partner could do the same, but not anymore. Her phone contract is with Three as well and now she doesn't even get push notifications while on mobile data with her Samsung phone. So, it doesn't sound like ZTE firmware to me anymore. It also doesn't seem to be related to a tower as she doesn't get push notifications in other areas either. Only when she arrives at work and connects to the work Wifi all the push notifications come rushing in. Our ZTE hub also drops connection at least once a day. We have HyperOptic in the area now and I heard they give you a couple of months for free to help you out of your contract. Obviously doesn't help my partner and her phone as she is still paying of the device. Three is really disppointing.

I have the same issue with my 5g home broadband from 3. I have noticed that my phones which are on 3 sims and using the mobile network for data don't have the notifications issue. Only the broadband has the issue. I thought that it could maybe have something to do with the different apns used? Hopefully one of you guys will know a bit more.

Hi @JonathanB for your response. I have been ran rings around the phone cutomer service but will be cancelling my broadband contract with three because of this. Thank you for your responses and time with this for me. I guess we leave this thread open for any potential fixes in the future to be posted.
I can confirm that the network status checker shows an issue in my area.

Hi everyone,
Sorry for the delay in updates on this, we're still trying to figure out the root cause of this issue. Initially, it seemed like we were looking at a hardware/firmware issue for the ZTE, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Thanks for the various tests and insights, that's helped us get a better idea of where to direct our investigation next.
I'll provide a further update as soon as have any more info or advice to share. In the meantime, Can anyone confirm a couple of points for me?
Do the areas where this is happening show any issues on our Network Status Checker?
I noticed that it was mentioned this issue happens when the Broadband SIM is put in a phone on hotspot, does anyone use Three for phone services and can therefore confirm if the issue happens over mobile data too, or definitely only when using Wi-Fi to connect to a Three device?
Thanks,
JonathanB

Hi @JonathanB ,
Given that I get notifications with a VPN and I use one on my phone anyway I chose not to cancel my subscription for now.
The Network Status Checker tells me everything's fine in my area.
I have tried the SIM in a 5G phone, and indeed the issue happened. Maybe it's worth noting that the phone showed the data connection was only 4G, probably because the Three router has a better antenna?
Hope this helps. Really looking forward to you finding out what's going on.

Hi @maxf,
Thanks for confirming this, that's a great help in narrowing things down, although it seems like the initial assumptions that this is an issue with the ZTE or even WiFi in general were red herrings.
We're still trying to establish the cause of this issue but this information should hopefully point us in the right direction.
@macdog you mentioned that your notifications started working again on the 29th is all still working or you now?
Jonathan
