PlayStation network won’t sign in on hub

Hi, feel like I’m hitting my head against a brick wall with support. Had the 5g home hub for 2 months and no issues (only get 4g though in my area), suddenly today PlayStation won’t sign into my account. Initially thought ps network is down, no one else reporting it, reset router, PlayStation etc. no joy, then tethered PlayStation to my iPhone 12 mini (also with three on 4g).

Support literally don’t even understand the issue, saying issue is my end when proved it isn’t by signing in no problem tethering to phone, every other device and thing works at home; internet Netflix etc….so what. Have three changed to make this break?

If anyone cares, I figured it out finally by googling 8.8kbps as I knew this was the problem.

so using these search results from Google:

https://www.ispreview.co.uk/talk/threads/crazy-low-three-5g-hub-upload-8-8kbps-but-only-on-some-devi...

https://community.three.co.uk/t5/Network/Three-APN-Settings/m-p/5373

i changed the APN settings in the hub admin page from the address 192.168.0.1

If you’re on a mobile device you need to change the webpage from mobile to PC view then in the centre of your page you will have a title of “my router”, 4g+ should be toggled on then choose settings, then the bottom option APN. Then from mode auto to manual, and basically I added a new profile, named it 3 (though it’s just a name so doesn’t matter), PDP type is defaultly selected at IPv4 then in the APN field I just typed three.co.uk, authentication is none and username and password is none.

Hope this helps someone, my question is now why did this just suddenly happen today? Will this change again in future? And why don’t support have a clue about it at all, and try to blame me or Sony when it’s obvious it’s not the problem, since I told them repeatedly I can use the PlayStation with other internet sources. Goodnight!

I'm having this same issue with my PS5. It streams apps like Sky Go, says I'm online but won't connect to the PlayStation Network properly and says Failed when doing the internet connection test. I have the NR5103E router, and can't seem to access the 192.168.0.1 admin page to change the APN settings on either my laptop or mobile. Help please!

I started experiencing this issue with the MC801A, on update B15. Can’t login to PlayStation Network. The API solution didn’t help.

Also, and I imagine is related, my Outlook mail accounts keeps getting desynced from the mail app on my ipad and iphone. Any updates on when this is getting solved? Or how to roll back to the previous software update?

I am having the exact same problems- for me, the changing of the settings to the above worked for approx 3 minutes and then stopped working though sadly! So any further help would be greatly appreciated

Hi, we have started experiencing these issues in our home too. We have three roku streaming devices that work when connected to my phone 5G hotspot, but anything via the ZTE MC801A for the last 6 days (started 7th or 7th April) has been experiencing issues. We can open all streaming apps on the Rokus and Samsung TV, but the majority of them do not stream once you select a program.  Choosing the websites to stream on phones, laptops and PCs all work correctly.
A couple of the laptops in the house are also dropping connection regularly, even if within a couple of metres of the router.

I've just tried the APN update, i will report back if still experiencing issues.
Additionally, it looks like my firmware was updated on 2nd March to BD_UKH3GMC0801AV1.0.0B15... I read somewhere else perhaps this has caused the issue, though the update was made more than a month ago when the issues arose last weekend.

APN update instructions to try out:

1. Login to your routers management page by typing in 192.168.0.1.

3. In the "my router circle" click on settings under the 5g title.

4.Then.click on APN.

5. Toggle the mode to manual.

6. Set profile name to Three

7.set apn to three.co.uk

8. Authentication should read NONE

9. Make sure PDP is on IPV4

10. Everything else should be blank.

Good evening, I hope you are well. I saw on a post that you managed to help some people who were having issues with their 5g broadband and it working on their console. I'm having similar issues. I bought this 5g broadband maybe a week ago but it has stopped working suddenly today. I have tried changing the APN as the related post suggested but still no change. Please may you help me resolve this?

I’ve now also started having the same issue. Sky Go on my iPad was first to stop streaming when connected to wifi - it work when using my mobile as a hotspot. Then Disney + refused to stream on my Roku TV (but strangely streams on my iPad when connected to the same wifi). My PS4 won’t connect at all.

Unfortunately the proposed solution doesn’t work for me as my router doesn’t give the option to add a profile. Any ideas/tips? This is very frustrating.
