Using a new sim

I have finished my 24 month contract with  3.I will keep the phone and switch to a sim only deal.When I put the new sim in will I lose all the contacts,apps photographs etc.Or do I need to back everything up.

Sim-free purchase in store

If you are already a Three customer on a sim-only plan, why are you charged £10 for a "top-up" in store when buying a handset outright? Why can't this be waived?
